Threads

I (threaded?) posted “Ordering DoorDash is basically saying ‘I accept the financial consequences of being tired,’” late on Saturday night. And seems like the world agreed.

Threads has become my training ground for content. I have a whopping 500 followers, but it’s a fun place to test messaging, ideas, new hooks, and it’s slowly becoming a new channel for us to find new Habits users (195k+ views in the past 30 days!).

We’re Hiring!

Engineers & Marketing Role(s)

If you’re considering a new career challenge, or come across friends, family, or former colleagues who are, take a look at our careers page.

Main Story:

Happy Thanksgiving!

Every year around this time, I like to zoom out, both for my own sanity and to reconnect with why I’m doing all of this. It’s really easy to get caught up in the grind: the goals, the numbers, the next hire, the next sprint, the next fire to put out. It’s even easier to beat yourself up for not being “ahead” of where you thought you’d be by now.

But the truth is…nobody has all the answers or everything figured out. We’re all just trying, learning, adjusting, hoping today’s decisions age well tomorrow. And when you’re in that constant pressure cooker (starting a family, building a startup, growing a career, managing finances, keeping up with life, etc.) it’s easy to forget how far you’ve already come.

That’s why this time of year matters. Not for the gifts, or the travel, or the forced family traditions, but because it forces you to stop. To breathe. To look around at the people who’ve carried you, believed in you, or simply showed up when you needed them.

Work will come and go. Opportunities will appear whether you sprint toward them or stumble into them. Money gets made, spent, invested, lost, and regained. But moments, the long dinners, the late-night conversations, the quiet mornings, the shared memories, are the things that actually stick.

So whatever this season looks like for you, busy, emotional, joyful, complicated, or all of the above, I hope you get a moment today to feel grounded, present, and grateful for something. Anything.

It doesn’t have to be deep. It just has to be real.

  • To the Habits team: you show up every day with more grit and heart than anyone sees publicly.

  • To my partner Remington: thank you for being steady through the highs and lows.

  • To my family and friends: thanks for cheering me on, even when you have no idea what I’m talking about.

  • To every reader, subscriber, advisor, follower, and person who’s been part of this journey…I genuinely appreciate you.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! See you next week!
